Content

Kannan’s father and mother were cleaning the house. Kannan and Yashini were helping them too.

Yazhini: ”Brother, how come there is a lot of dust inside the house when we keep the door closed? ”

Kannan: ”Dust from the soil can spread by the wind and dust is like a small tiny particles. Since air can penetrate everywhere, it easily brings dust into the house, even through small gaps.”

Yazhini: “Brother, when we clean the house, can you tell me what to clean?”

Kannan: ”I am doing it for the first time today, Yashini. We can learn from dad and mom.”

Yazhini: ”Sure Anna”

Dad: ”You two can learn from your mom.”

Mom: ”What I am doing now applies not only to the home but also to public places.

  • At home or in public places, all entrances, stairways, exits collect dust. Our feet, mud and other debris can multiply this so we need to keep these places clean.
  • Garbage found in the bins should be removed every morning.
  • Garbage should be placed in the designated areas.
  • All windows at home or public places, wall, chairs, tables, files containing boxes (File Holder), products containing boxes, empty boxes, mirrors, and other furniture can collect dust and they must be cleaned too.
  • Terrace, apartment blocks, stairs, elevator – all have a lot of movement in such public places and they tend to get dirty. so it is best to clean them daily.
  • Toilets should be kept clean all the time.
  • The bedroom, kitchen, and other rooms needs to be cleaned.
  • Floor carpets and decorative cloth should be washed and cleaned once a week.

This is how we should keep our house and public places clean.”

Dad: ”Yes, Mom is right. Not only that.

  • Do not spit in public places. Do not throw garbage.
  • Walk paths should not be used as toilets.
  • Clean the house daily using broom.
  • Unwanted materials should be removed.
  • The dishes we use should be washed before using.
  • Place items in the appropriate place.
  • Remove spider webs from home.

Doing all this will make every home and public space look beautiful and clean. Do you understand?”

Kannan, Yazhini: “Yes, Dad”

Dad: ”Can we clean our house now?”

Kannan, Yazhini: ” Definitely Dad ”
